Guidance for the hands.
Room for the imagination.
We introduce a material, demonstrate a technique, and give children space to explore. The goal is engagement with the process, not identical results lined up for a photograph.
Sessions are led by NIFT and NID alumni who work with children patiently and at their pace. Groups stay small so every child gets attention, help when they’re stuck, and encouragement when they surprise themselves.
Each workshop lasts three hours, with room for breaks. Art kits and session materials are included. A parent or guardian should make the enquiry so we can discuss age suitability, access needs and arrangements before confirming a place.
We’ll confirm supervision and parent-attendance arrangements before bookings open. Please don’t include a child’s personal contact details in the form.

Does my child need prior art classes?
No. Neither the introductory workshop nor the eight-week programme needs prior experience. Tell us your child’s age and interests so we can discuss whether the session is a good fit.
What’s the difference between the workshop and the programme?
The workshop is a single three-hour afternoon: a complete introduction with something to take home. The programme is eight of those afternoons, one a week, building from drawing to colour to construction and finishing with a project your child designs. Many families try the workshop first; if it clicks, the programme carries on from there.
Do we need to buy or bring anything?
No. The art kit and all workshop materials are included. Send your child in clothes that can get messy; we provide aprons where the craft needs them, but paint and clay find a way.
Do I stay, or drop off?
We’ll confirm supervision and parent-attendance arrangements before bookings open, and share them with you at enquiry. Either way, a parent or guardian handles booking and pick-up.
My child is younger or older than 6–12. Can they join?
Possibly. The age range is a guide, not a wall. Tell us their age and how they like to make things and we’ll suggest the right session, or say honestly if it isn’t a fit yet.
How big are the groups?
Small enough that every child gets a hand when they need one. Exact group size depends on the craft and is confirmed with you at booking.
What about allergies, sensory needs or accessibility?
Tell us in the enquiry notes. We’ll talk through the materials used, the space at OORKATHE, and any adjustments before we confirm a place.
What do they take home?
Their finished piece, and usually the reusable parts of their kit. Exact contents depend on the session.
Can we book a session for a birthday or a group of friends?
Yes. Use the enquiry form and tell us the number of children, ages and the occasion. Private sessions are shaped with you.
Is this an examination or portfolio course?
No. These sessions focus on creative exploration and making. There are no grades or competitive rankings.
How does booking work?
Send an enquiry. We reply by email to confirm fit, date and details, then hold the place. Rescheduling and cancellation terms are shared with the confirmation, before any payment.
